Dear Parents,

For the next 2 weeks we will be working on an Animal Research paper in reading.  Each student has chosen an animal that interests them.  Each day we will do a little more work on completing our paper.  The students will be given plenty of time here at school to complete their project.  However, I did tell them that if they would like to do more research while at home that will be perfectly fine.  Once we have completed the research we will begin to create our written reports. For the presentation of our projects each student will create a Voki (an animated character).  Once the Voki's have been created they will be posted to the blog for parents to view and enjoy.

Now that the STAAR test is over we are able to do some fun, educational activities such as the research project.  The students seem to be very excited to use the netbooks and learn about different animals.

End of the 5th Six Weeks

This week marks the end of the 5th Six Weeks.  It's hard to believe that in only 6 1/2 weeks we will begin our Summer vacation.

We are down to the wire and STAAR is just around the corner.  It is important to make sure that your child is at school every day and on time.  These last couple weeks we are reviewing and preparing to take the test.  Make sure that your child is getting an adequate amount of sleep each night and eating a good nutritious breakfast.  We need the students to be able to give us their best each day they are here and after the tests we will be able to celebrate our success with some fun activities and field trips.  Thank you for all that you do to help your child at home.  We appreciate all that you do!!
